It is not April’s Fool, the chicken-flavoured nail polish exists! Is this the paradise of the nail biters?
Fast food chain KFC announced the creation of two edible nail polish. And of course, both have taste and smell of fried chicken, the main product sold in the restaurants. This is the result of a partnership between the agency Ogilvy & Mather and McCormick’s scientists, the supplier of the chicken spice mix. The product is available at KFC stores in Hong Kong. Customers can choose between the flavoured nail polish original or its spicy version and they can also vote for which they liked most. The usage is exactly the same of the common polish and appearance as well.
Sounds weird, but this is not the first time that a fast food brand creates “different” products. Three years ago there was the Cheeteau, a perfume fragrance like cheddar cheese snacks Cheetos. It was produced in reality, but was part of a promotional action and distributed just as gift. According to the company, the scent of perfume had “buttery notes, striking accents of cheddar and a touch of lemon to give balance”. Have you ever thought about having that smell of cheese all over the body?
Similar action was made by Burger King and its burger-scented perfume. 1000 units of the fragrance “Flame-Grilled Fragrance” were sold exclusively on April 1st 2015. Another interesting line is the one from Pizza Hut, that released the collection “Hug Swag” of clothes with pizza stamp. Available online here.
I like to eat at fast food restaurants, but honestly, I’d rather save my nails from the chicken flavoured nail polish and I will keep my floral perfume as always.
